ABOUT US

The James A. Smith Postmaster Scholarship Foundation was founded 2009 by James A. Smith, former Postmaster for the City of Los Angeles.

James, along with his wife Tamara, had an unquenchable desire to make a difference in the lives of any student in the Greater Los Angeles region who desired to further their education. By creating the James A. Smith Postmaster Scholarship Foundation, dreams have been ignited over the past ten years through this non-profit’s vision and commitment to serve a community and demographic that may otherwise get overlooked.

OUR MISSION

JASPSF is dedicated to investing in our community by empowering college bound students of color, in and around Los Angeles, to reach their potential to solve global problems that will change the world.
